Matthew Bell

Matthew gained an MA (Hons) in Social Anthropology with Development from Edinburgh University a very long time ago and subsequently worked in international development, organic and sustainable farming and then sustainable building. He particularly enjoyed working on Greenwich Millennium Village, which was one of the first at-scale, truly sustainable developments in the UK. Later Matthew joined John Laing to assist them in developing new models of Public Private Partnership. Following that he decided he wanted a more ‘hands on’ business that allowed scope to innovate and create large-scale, meaningful social enterprise-based partnerships and projects that unite rather than divide, allow for entrepreneurial flair and creativity, engage all parts of the community and address burning social issues head on! Matthew established Our Enterprise as a social developer, and is proud to have created Entrain Space, the UK’s first residential programme of enterprise training for service leavers and veterans in the UK.
